We are Stephanie and Johan, the people behind Paw & Property. Thanks to our extensive experience, calm demeanour and genuine love for animals, we can look after your dogs and cats on special occasions. We can be your Dog Concierge for an evening out, your Cat Concierge while you’re away or your Wedding Concierge on your big day.
Whether you’re getting married, celebrating a birthday or simply enjoying some time to yourself, we will look after your pet with sensitivity and attentiveness, and with an instinctive understanding of their needs.
We react intuitively, plan ahead and ensure that your pet feels not just looked after, but truly understood. They’ll enjoy calmness and security – and, of course, a few treats.
Our work is a combination of instinct, planning and heart. (And, honestly, our hearts are full of pet hair.)
We understand how much trust it takes to hand over responsibility for your cat or dog, especially on a special day like your wedding. It’s a great honour for us to be there for your four-legged darling, providing reliable companionship with heart, mind, and respect.
It all started on the other side of the world, in New Zealand. We took two years off to travel through New Zealand and Australia, where we discovered a concept that didn’t really exist in Switzerland yet: housesitting and pet sitting. This is how we travelled the country from north to south and back again, getting to know the locals along the way.
That experience stayed with us. When we returned to Switzerland, we set out to offer pet owners in Basel something they had been missing: personal, reliable and trustworthy care for their dogs and cats whenever and for however long they need it.
In January 2026, Paw & Property celebrated its ninth anniversary - nine years since the idea was conceived in New Zealand and Australia as a free house-sitting service.
In 2019, we brought the concept home to Switzerland, beginning to work with pet owners in the Zurich area.
In 2021, Paw & Property officially became what it is today. Over the years, it has grown into exactly what its name promises: personal dog and cat concierge services in Basel, with a nod to our house-sitting roots through the property care we offer alongside cat visits.
The next step was to bring this same standard of care into people's everyday lives. Rather than offering just any pet products, we set out to find, test and curate the most beautiful, intelligently designed pieces for dogs and cats - items that make living together functional and stylish.
maisonBo was born from this vision, launching in spring 2023 and delivering beautifully designed products to customers across Switzerland.
In 2024, we entered a whole new market - one that Stephanie was already familiar with from her years in event management at Basel's most luxurious hotel: Weddings.
Having planned 17 wedding celebrations at Les Trois Rois, she knows her way around this important day. Together with her husband, Johan, she created a wedding concierge service for dogs and cats that is second to none.
We're constantly growing and looking for new ways to improve the lives of pets and their owners in Basel and beyond.
Our Wedding Concierge service started with a friend’s request and a Jack Russel named Baxton. Stephanie's best friend Anne, marrying in Hamburg, gave her a call. She asked if we could care for Baxton for the weekend and bring him to their wedding day. We said yes without hesitation - because honestly, it sounded like a dream.
But as the weekend unfolded, something clicked. Everyone had their role. The planner, the photographer, the florist. But no one was fully focused on Baxton’s experience - until we stepped in.
We tuned into what he needed, adjusted in real time, and made sure Anne and her husband didn’t have to think about his wellbeing for a minute.
Yes - that’s Baxton and his family below (isn't he adorable?!). He’s the reason our Wedding Concierge service was born. And he’s the reason we built a service that answers the question so many couples don’t even realize they’re asking: How can I be the kind of dog parent I always am... on the day I want to be fully present with everyone else I love?
The answer is simple: You hire us.
